Hello there! Welcome to the results for GUPS challenge 5. Yep, challenge 5. Doesn't it seem like it's moving fast? It does to me... but anyways. I'm hoping to keep it moving fast, and I apologize once again for delays. Me and the judges have real lives too and I hope you won't hold that against us. Let's try really hard to get back on track this week... get your entries in on time.
Unfortunately, this week we had to say goodbye to Pugzy who didn't get all of her entry in on time. It's been great having her with us. Pugzy gal, you're awesome and I hope you can join again next time. :)
If you've been paying any attention at all the last 4 weeks, you know where this is going. It's critique time! Me and the judges were a little disappointed with the sets this week. Most of them didn't stand out... but a few of you shined and that will be rewarded :) Please take time to read your challenges well. Don't play it safe... go wild and enjoy yourself with the challenges!
CRITIQUES:
Lizzy: We liked this outfit, a lot. The problem was that we couldn't see it very well. While your outfit is pretty similar to the original outfit, you made up for it by making the layout totally different. And we appreciate that. However, one judge thought it looked too cluttered, and I just wanted to see more of the fabulous outfit pieces.
Izzy: Here's what one judge thought: "Love love love. I think you understood the challenge pretty well, because I could feel a difference between the sets." We all agreed, and really enjoyed looking at this. The colors were great and made the set pop. I was a little confused by your outfit though... why two handbags? One for each hand? xD Overall though, you were one of the best at 'getting' the challenge this week. Good job.
Rachel: This set was super cute and the colors were nice. And while the outfit is cute as well, it's pretty similar to the outfit in the original set, which wasn't the goal of the challenge. Your layout also needs a little work... there's too much open space for a mosaic. Keep trying though, you're improving!
Jazz: We all agreed that the outfit was pretty nice. The problem we had with this set was your layout. You had some good ideas, but putting all the items in the corner made the set pretty unappealing to look at. Nice job doing something different, but the layout still needs a little work.
Chloe: Great outfit and great job being really different from the original set. You did well with understanding the challenge, and for that, you rock. You do great outfits pretty consistently, but what we want to see improve is your layout. It's really hard to see some of the items. Try changing up your sizing so that most everything is visible. Nice job this week!
Duckie: This was a nice outfit and a nice layout. However, we all thought you played it a little safe this week. Your outfit didn't have a whole lot to it, and even though what you did use was really really nice, it was missing some things. Go wild with accessories and things. One judge also wasn't so keen on the giant powder on the right-hand side.
Doodle: WOW! What a beautiful set. You're improving by leaps and bounds and it's great to see you do something different. We all loved the gorgeous color scheme and nice outfit. The set was totally different from the original and you understood the challenge well. The layout looked a little off though, there was too much in the right side and not enough on the left, or something. But very nice job this week. :)
Shannon: This set was laid out well and the colors were nice, but to us it looks really similar to the original set. :/
Bri: This is really cute! We all thought it was a little too simple and safe though. And the color scheme looked similar to the original set when we were looking for you to do something really different. One judge didn't like the picture that you chose that was taking up all of the right-hand side of the set. Keep working, because you have potential [:
Speedy: I know you had a rough week so I'm not going to be too hard on you. The outfit was very pretty as usual but we weren't big fans of your layout... it was kinda hard to see some of the items. The colors, although expected from you, were very nice.
Molly: So, over the course of this week-and-a-half, your original set somehow got deleted. :/ Which didn't give us a whole lot to work off of. That wasn't your fault so we didn't count off in the judging. The outfit was cute, but the layout seemed a little off. The left side was pretty plain compared to the right.
Lemon: Cool outfit! I like the red, it definitely spiced things up. However, the layout was kinda scrunched up making everything hard to see. There's a lot of empty space at the bottom that you could have used. One judge commented that the layout was similar to the original set. Overall, not as different as we were looking for but still a fabulous outfit. :)
So, who wins? And all that good stuff. Just a quick mention... this will be the last week that I divide you up into groups. That was just to make things easier and now that we have fewer participants then I don't think we need it anymore.
So... the groups for this week. One of these groups are our top scorers, one is our middle scorers, and one is our low scorers. The lowest score this week will be going home.
Group 1:
Jazz
Shannon
Bri
Rachel
Group 2:
Doodle
Lemon
Izzy
Speedy
Group 3:
Molly
Duckie
Chloe
Lizzy
Which group do you think is which? Take a guess, and then come back. :)

10th place goes to Jazz.
Which leaves Rachel and Shannon. Rachel, you've been here a few times before but you always come back and try harder. Shannon, you're awesome, but this week's set didn't fit the challenge requirements very well. So who will stay and who will go?

Rachel, you've made it again. You're in 11th place. Keep working hard! :)
Which means, unfortunately, that Shannon will be leaving us. You've been a great competitor and we really enjoyed you joining us, Shannon. :)
Here are some of Shannon's sets, before we go.
Bye Shannon, you'll be missed. :(
Writing the end of these posts always makes me sad! *sniff*
Now that we're done, head over to the forum to read your challenge 6, as soon as I finish thinking of it.
Ta-ta for now!
