Challenge 2 Results

Welcome to the results for GUPS Challenge 2! I'm sorry about the lateness... we were waiting on a contestant. And I'm sorry to say, that Maggie has had to drop out of the competition. :( Which means... that nobody will be eliminated this week. Yay, right?
...But, next week the REAL eliminations start. And this week is important because the winner of this challenge will win immunity from getting eliminated in the next challenge. So, ready to see who wins?

Me too, but first, we have critiques. :)

Lizzy: We all thought this was really nice, well thought out and just good in general. However, a few more textures or something more interesting would have made it stand out more. One judge complained that you overused the same textures. Great job though.

Shannon: This isn't bad. It's nice and has a lot of potential. But all of us agreed that it was plain and it was missing something. More textures, maybe? Or... something. We did like the phrases you used and thought that this set was a good interpretation of insanity!

Lemon: You were my favorite this week. You obviously spent a lot of time on this and it shows! One judge wasn't sure how well this portrayed insanity but I thought it was an original and spot-on interpretation. The composition is lovely and the colors are really nice. Well done.

Speedy: We can always count on you for originality and you definitely delivered this week! This was an original interpretation and the faces all blended together so well. One judge said, "I like how you did something different, I was not expecting a set like this. Your set tells a story, and that's why I love it! A suggestion would be to not use so many faces, it looks a little busy."

Pugzy: "The layout looks a little bland," one judge thought, and we all agreed. This was a nice set, very cute... but a little too cliche and plain. We're looking for you to do something original and unexpected! :)

Izzy: Nice job, Izzy! This is unique and very nice. But it looks unfinished... you didn't fill all the space along the top and sides like you did everywhere else. Also, one judge commented that the colors were a little off. We really liked your originality though.

Rachel: Looking at this set, we see potential. However, we also see that this looks like not much time was spent on it. Keep working hard and improving! We didn't think your set was the best interpretation of insanity but it was very cute. :)

Dott: The set itself was really nice. The textures went with it very well even though they were understated. However, as one judge said, "It does not say insanity to me, more like depression, sadness, or despair. It also does not look like a whole lot of time was spent on it."

Doodle: This had some nice elements to it. Put all together though, we didn't think it really looked like 'insanity.' The layout was a little off and it wasn't a very exciting set. Overall though, this was a nice effort!

Bri: One judge questioned how well this portrayed insanity; I thought it was a great unique interpretation. Your set was very creative and it had a lot of thought put into it. Great job!

Duckie: Adorable set! I loved how the colors were still consistent in the midst of all that madness. One judge thought that the background was too cluttered, and I kinda agree. Just doing random items is a cliche way to portray insanity, but we loved this set anyway because the colors were so cute!

Jazz: One judge summed it up for all of us. "I like the phrase, and the direction that this set was going in. However, you can't tell what the pictures are, you can barely see the phrase, and the layout is to cluttered! Work a little harder next time girl!"

Stars: The theme was insanity. And we didn't see that anywhere in your set. There were too many textures... I couldn't even see the photo or what it was of. Next time please read the challenge and try to follow it!

Molly: This is great! It's so original and unique and all of us loved it. It's really a shame that it shrunk but that doesn't really matter. "Insanity is all in your mind and I love how you put that as the center of the set," is what one judge had to say.

Chloe: This is a beautiful set with a great layout... but what does it have to do with insanity? All we can see is a girl shopping. Which is sad because this set has a lot of potential. Please read the challenge next time!
