I'm really sorry this has taken so long... I've been out of town, the judges have been busy, I could go on with the excuses but I know you don't want to hear them... so let's get to the results! Who's ready for double elimination night?
But first... a sentence or two from each judge.
CRITIQUES:
{Speedy and Izzy}-
Speedy:
"This is beautifully done... I would have liked to see a little more texturing."
"This was plain beautiful, I loved both ideas!"
"...I truly love the idea of actually having a central figure in the set instead of just mushing together random items that represent the theme. However, a bit more detail is needed."
"I really liked this set! Very soft and peaceful but the blood looks awkward."
Izzy:
"...what your set seems to be lacking is a clear direction... you did a great job blending the items."
"Again, both ideas were wonderful!"
"I feel like Izzy sort of mushed everything together... but I love the colors and the boldness that is given off from this set."
"Your set looks a bit confusing. Some of the items look out of place."
{Lizzy and Bri}-
Lizzy:
"Very nice, albeit stereotypical, representation of war. Great use of texturing!"
"Beautiful, Lizzy, but I could barely see the picture :/"
"First off, the actual set is way too small, and you can't exactly see the details too well. However, when you do pay close attention to the set, it has great detail and is beautifully set up."
"There is too many textures so you can't see the picture that well. Other than that, it's very pretty."
Bri:
"So I like the concept and really like the neat style. The problem is with the edges... they're not straight, and they look really sloppy!"
"This was very original, and I love that!!"
"There was a huge lack of effort in this set. Plus, when I looked at this, PEACE didn't jump out at me."
"It doesn't represent peace to me."
{Molly and Doodle}-
Molly:
"This is what I would expect for a portrayal of heaven, however it's beautifully done."
"The regular, fantastic Molly."
"Sure, you can get that heavenly vibe from the set, but really, it just seemed like she googled HEAVEN and clipped as many pics as possible."
"Looks a little simple and boring, but fits your theme."
Doodle:
"Needs some texturing, but this is STUNNING nonetheless."
"Nice, but something about the skulls bother me...=/"
"I love this!!! It totally gives me that creepy scary evil feeling! The lady in the middle, the skeletons, everything is so well set up!"
"My favorite of the week, it's very 'scary'."
So who will win? And who will be eliminated in our first double elimination? It's too close to the end for me to offer immunity, but the winners will of course be going to the next round, and we're one round away from the finals, so that's pretty awesome. :) The 2nd place team will also be moving on... and our lowest scoring team will be eliminated tonight. It's tough, but it has to be done. First of all... who will win?

MOLLY AND DOODLE! :D
Who will be the second place team, and who will be going home tonight? Will it be Speedy and Izzy, or Lizzy and Bri?

congrats. You're going to be sticking around for the next round.
Which means, Lizzy and Bri... I'm so sorry to say that you have been eliminated from GUPS. Both of you are superb designers, artists and just awesome people in general, and it's been so great to have you participating. Let's look at some of your sets, before we go... Lizzy:
and Bri:
Again, thank both of you so much for taking part. You're great. :)
Head over to the forum for your challenge... oh shoot, that means I need to think of it!
Until next time,
BB
